Gluten Free Meatballs (Keto Friendly)
Looking for quick, gluten free meatballs that are also keto-friendly? In under 15 minutes, you can whip up 30-36 oven-baked meatballs that are perfect for any dish. Whether you’re craving classic marinara or a bold Asian sauce, these meatballs are a versatile and delicious addition to your meals!
Gluten Free Without Breadcrumbs
My gluten free meatballs are made without the usual gluten-free breadcrumbs. Instead, I use almond flour, which not only keeps the recipe gluten-free but also adds a boost of protein. This makes the meatballs not only keto-friendly but more nutritious, while still maintaining a tender, flavorful texture. It’s a simple swap that enhances both taste and health benefits!
Oven Baked and Air Fry Meatballs
I followed the guidelines from kitchenappliancestore.com for oven cooking times, and the meatballs turned out perfect. Please see the guidelines below for cooking 1-2 inch beef, pork, and turkey meatballs. I also tried the same timings for air fryers, and they still turned out perfect with a crispier skin.

What to Serve with Gluten Free Meatballs
Once you’ve made great meatballs, you can pair them with almost any delicious sauce. I highly recommend trying them with homemade marinara sauce made from fresh tomatoes. For a fun twist, you can also serve them with Mongolian or orange sauce from my Asian meatball recipes.
Gluten Free Meatballs (Keto Friendly)
Equipment
- 1 mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup almond flour
- ½ cup parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder (or 4 cloves grated fresh garlic)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp onion powder (or 3 tbsp finely chopped fresh oinon)
- 1 tbsp oregano (fresh or 1 tsp dried oregano)
- 1 tbsp basil ( fresh and chopped or 1 tsp dried basil)
- 1 tbsp rosemary (fresh or 1 tsp dried rosemary)
- 1 tbsp parsley (fresh and chopped or 1 tsp dried parsley)
- 1 tsp olive oil (optional to grease the scooper)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the egg, almond flour, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, onion, and the Italian herbs listed above. Keep in mind, you don’t need all of the herbs listed—you can use a mix of about 4 tablespoons of any combination of Italian herbs.
- Mix and knead the ingredients with hands until well combined. Lightly spray a meatball scooper with olive oil, then scoop and roll the mixture into meatballs.
- Arrange the meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. This recipe yields about 30-36 meatballs. You don’t need to space them too far apart, as they won’t puff up or spread much.
- Bake at 400 ℉ for 10-12 minutes, or air fry at 400 ℉ for 9 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!
