This salsa consists of mostly whole food ingredients, making it easy to prepare. The flavor is smoky, sweet, slightly spicy, and fresh. Simply roast onions, garlic, and any variety of large tomatoes you have, from Roma to Beefsteak. Then, blend the roasted ingredients with chipotle peppers along with adobo sauce, and other seasonings. Check out the image below for a visual guide.

Is Smoky Chipotle Salsa Hot?
In this recipe, I use chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. The peppers themselves are spicy and smoky since they’re dried and smoked jalapeños. The adobo sauce, made from tomatoes, vinegar, and garlic, adds a sweet and tangy flavor that helps balance the heat. One chipotle pepper fits nicely in a tablespoon along with the sauce, so you can easily adjust the spiciness of the salsa by adding more or fewer peppers. Therefore, make sure to include the flavorful adobo sauce! For more details about chipotle in adobo sauce, check out pepperscale.com.
