Maple Glazed Chicken
This show-stopping Balsamic Maple Glazed Chicken packs with tender chicken, tangy cranberries, crisp apples, and vibrant veggies like carrots, sweet potatoes, and bell peppers. This one-pan wonder is as festive as it is flavorful.
What You’ll Need for This Balsamic Glaze Chicken
Protein: Chicken thighs or breasts (bone-in for extra flavor). If you prefer boneless chicken, reduce the baking time to 30 minutes. For chicken breasts, bake for just 20 minutes to prevent overcooking.
Fruits: Fresh cranberries and sliced apples. Any variety of apples will work, but Honeycrisp is our favorite. Be sure to peel the apples before slicing.

Vegetables: Carrots, sweet potatoes, and bell peppers. Chop the carrots and sweet potatoes into small pieces to ensure they cook through evenly.
Herbs: Add a few sprigs of rosemary and/or thyme. For an extra special touch, sprinkle some cinnamon powder over the apples and sweet potatoes.
Balsamic Glaze for Chicken
To make the balsamic maple glaze, start by melting butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, salt, and pepper, then bring the mixture to a boil for about a minute. Allow the glaze to simmer for 2-3 minutes, but avoid reducing it further, as it will thicken as it cools and could harden if overcooked. If it’s harden or becomes too thick, gently reheat with a tablespoon of water and let it cool down and thicken.
Simple Steps to Cook One Pan Maple Glazed Chicken
Step 1: Lightly season the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a little oil in a pan and sear the chicken for 3 minutes per side, starting with the skin side down.
Step 2: While the chicken cooks, chop the sweet potatoes, carrots, bell pepper, and apple. For added flavor, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon on the apple and sweet potatoes.
Step 3: Add the carrots, sweet potatoes, bell pepper, apple, and cranberries to the pan. Arrange the carrots and sweet potatoes toward the bottom so they cook in the juices and soften easily. Add a few sprigs of rosemary and/or thyme on top.
Step 4: Transfer the pan to the oven and bake uncovered. Cook for 45 minutes for bone-in chicken, 30 minutes for boneless chicken thighs, or 20 minutes for chicken breasts.
Step 5: While the chicken bakes, prepare the balsamic maple glaze. About 30 minutes into baking, drizzle half of the glaze over the chicken. Brush or drizzle the remaining glaze on the chicken when serving, and enjoy!
